Am I a Planter, Revitalizer, or Maybe Something Else?

Kevin Spratt & J.A. Medders

Discerning a call to ministry is rarely a simple or predictable journey. This eBook explores the biblical foundations and practical realities of pastoral calling through the lens of experienced church planters and multiplying pastors. Drawing from research with proven ministry leaders, this resource examines the inward calling and outward confirmation often present in those called to pastoral ministry and church planting. Using Scripture alongside insights from seasoned practitioners, this eBook provides a balanced framework for understanding and confirming God’s direction for your life and ministry. You’ll learn:

  • What Scripture teaches about calling and ministry
  • The common ways pastors and church planters discern and confirm their calling
  • The difference between inward calling and outward affirmation
  • Practical principles for evaluating a call to ministry or church planting
  • How experienced church multipliers recognized and responded to God’s leading
  • A research-based framework built around 18 key attributes of ministry discernment

In addition to the eBook, readers will also receive a companion leader guide designed to help mentors, pastors, and ministry leaders walk through the content with aspiring leaders. This practical resource includes guided discussion questions and conversation frameworks to encourage meaningful discipleship and intentional discernment in a one-on-one or small group setting.
